SUMMARY
Dr. Anusha Hemakumara is a senior professional in the Homeopathy field of the health care sector in Sri Lanka.
Worked as a MOIC (Medical Officer in Charge) in Dehiwala/Mount Lavinia Govt, Homeopathic Medical Centre from 2001. Dehiwala/Mount Lavinia (largest suburb in the city) Homeopathic Clinic is conducted directly under the Homeopathic Medical Council, Local Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospital Development and Community Development Ministry. Experience in the Government sector as Medical Officer is over 22 years.
With her knowledge and experience gathered in the past 22 years practicing as a Doctor of Homeopathy; at the government sponsored clinic as well as practicing as a consultant at the HK Homeopathy Medical Centre (since 2009), she has treated many thousands of patients who have visited her clinics from various parts of the country. Her Expertise not only limited to Sri Lanka but to Overseas patients too.
Her research on herbal drugs & cosmetic value addition techniques have helped her to develop her own line of products which is funded by HK Healthy Life (Pvt) Ltd., and efforts are being made to avail such products in the market in the future, and continue to do further research with a view to expanding the product portfolio. Her sole aim is to promote and establish Homeopathy methods of treatment in Sri Lanka and Internationally.
As a socially responsible person Dr. Hemakumara consults monthly free medical camps held around the country which are funded by the HK Homeopathy (Pvt) Ltd.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Since registering as a licensed practitioner with the Sri Lanka Homeopathic Medical Council in the year 2000, she played an active roll in establishing the Homeopathic Medical Clinic run by the Homeopathic Medical Council of Sri Lanka, which is funded by the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine of Sri Lanka. She is specialized in treating chronic diseases such as Arthritis, Parkinson’s Disease, Paralysis and Skin Diseases. (See attached list) She has treated an average of 240 new patients a month at the government run clinic in the year 2018. In 2009, She started consulting at the HK Homeopathy Medical Centre in Rathmalana and later moved to the upgraded state of the art four story facility of “HK Homoeopathy Health Care Centre” in Katubedda todate. HK Homoeopathy Health Care Centre is considered to be a reputed Homeopathy treatment centre in the country and patients from all parts of the country visits her centre on a daily basis.

PUBLIC AWARENESS
Dr. Anusha Hemakumara, participates in health-related discussions on national TV channels, Rupavahini, ITN, Sirasa TV, Siyatha TV, and Colombo TV, on invitation, regularly which has made her a household name in the health care sector. She believes it has helped her to educate the public to a great extent, on the concept and advantages of homeopathic methods of treatment and also to identify and to address health issues faced by the public at an early stage. As a developing Nation Sri Lanka has still not achieved the full potential of the internet as a mode of educating the public, as access to the internet is limited, mainly in rural areas, and new technology is only now gaining popularity. However, Television and Newspapers have proved to be effective modes of communication. Dr.Anusha Hemakumara also participates in Radio discussions on ITN FM, V FM, & Vidulowa FM Channels in addition to publishing articles in Sinhala language to the national newspapers in Sri Lanka, such as Diwaina, Lakbima, Isiwara, Tharuni, Sirikatha & Doctor Magazine which as a whole targets all segments of the society. She has participated in many number of national/international workshops over the years to improve her expertise and professional skills.
